ChitoCare Medical Scar Healing Gel
Primex Iceland is happy to announce its new medical device, ChitoCare Medical Scar Healing Gel, to promote a smoother and reduced scar appearance. Containing natural chitosan, a safe bioactive polymer harvested from the pristine waters around Iceland.
For the treatment of new and old scars.
The Scar Healing Gel provides a soothing effect and support to the scar tissue to heal in an orderly manner. It protects against infections, stimulates cell proliferation in old and new scars, as well as correct tissue organization with proper collagen alignment for a better aesthetic appearance and skin flexibility. Ideal for treating scars after accidents, surgery, C-section and cosmetic surgery. For smoother and less visible scars.
After stitches removal, apply a thin layer to the scar area and let dry for 2 min. A transparent and elastic film will form to protect your skin. Use twice a day or as needed. Note that the chitosan film does not need to be removed as it will slowly be degraded during natural skin renewal. Wash your hands before applying the spray to the affected area. Replace the cap after use to protect the dispenser.
Chitosan is a functional polysaccharide providing support to skin tissue. Under mild acidic conditions, it becomes positively charged, rendering it bioadhesive. This allows it to adhere to intact or breached skin as a protective film, conferring many important biological properties. Chitosan is a true wonder of the sea, as it protects the skin, reduces redness and irritation with its cooling effect, maintains moisture and promotes the skin's natural repair process.
